Key function: Composer, musician, producer
I am a musician and composer in the field of contemporary microtonal music, informed by Norwegian traditional music and experimental improvised music.
My main artistic interest is audio-visual, so I am working towards an increased sensitivity to the sensual potential in subtle tonality changes. How does different tonalities influence what we see when we hear sound and what we hear when we see something?
I explore this by playing and writing music in different genres - both for films and other audio-visual projects. I play a lot of concerts (have performed in some 30 countries), and I have put out around 30 albums to date.
Besides my main instrument the violin, I play other string instruments, synths, piano, percussion and work with field recordings.
I also work with producing art films and thru my production company Fine Intervall AS I can help securing additional funding for all things related to music and sound.
