Key function: Composition, music production and performing musician
My name is Kristin Sevaldsen, and I am a musician, composer, and music producer. In relation to film, I have composed music for a short film by Guro Rugstad Jensen (En Stein I Vegen/The Obstacle) and Arngrim Ytterhus' documentary about the Indonesian writer Pramoedya Ananta Toer. During my film composition studies in Lillehammer in 2012/13, I composed music for many documentaries, including Eirik Hind Sveen's documentary Yalda, which is about an immigrant family's process of obtaining residency in Norway.
I have also composed music for theatrical productions such as Aulestadspillet (based on Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson's writings and life at Aulestad) and the anniversary performance, MIDGARD, celebrating the 10-year anniversary of Hafjell and Øyer municipality after the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer.
Currently, I am working on a larger album trilogy where I explore the sound of the Arctic. The first album was released in 2022 and focuses on Snøhetta in Dovrefjell. The second album will be released on September 27th, 2024 and is centered around Iceland. The live concerts include both music and video backdrops featuring images from the various locations where the field recordings are made.
